Umeed Mistry
I began diving in 1996 and immediately fell head over heels in love with the sea. In 2002 I got my Instructors cert and started working in the little known Lakshadweep Islands (India). With a lagoon at my doorstep and an ever increasing desire to share the beauty of the underwater world with people who didn't dive, photography became the obvious next step. It has now evolved into as much of a passion as being in the water itself, and I am happiest with a scuba cylinder on my back and a camera in my hand. My images have won a couple of awards here and there. But I still think of myself as a student of photography, and one day hope to rank among the greats.
