Tree of Life Necklace - Meaning & Symbolism
The Tree of Life necklace remains the most recognizable jewellery symbol as it has been for thousands of years. Tree of life jewellery has been worn in all cultures trancending religions throughout the ages.
The Tree of Life has been symbolized in many forms across many cultures and religions for centuries, often in items worn as jewellery or amulets as well as in sculptures and art. It recognized as a symbol of immortality and eternal life whilst to others it is seen to represent family and the strength gained through bonds of family, and for these reasons is probably one of the most well known universal icons. This symbol is often found in ancient Jewish, Christian, Buddhist and other religious drawings and texts. It was also very significant to the ancient Celts and used often by the Druids in their ceremonies, resulting in the common phrase we use today of the 'Celtic Tree of Life'. The tree of life icon in the form of jewellery is the most universally accepted symbol shared across many different religions with digs of Ancient sites finding examples of this symbol in the talismans in the form of pendants, necklaces and motifs in bronze and stone in many parts of the Ancient world. The iconic symbol was instantly recognzed as civilizations began travelling around the world spreading their knowledge and religious beliefs and the symbolism of the Tree of Life still holds great religious meaning universally today.
