Tanya G. Burnett

Starting with a passion born from a youth spent in the warm waters of the Caribbean and matured by a master in dive business and a minor in photographic technique at Miami's Barry University, Tanya has never strayed far from the sea. After graduation, she started a successful full service dive operation called H2O Scuba and eventually selling it to start her dive career in other arenas – including being a founding partner of the TDI/SDI training system and an exotic dive travel coordinator. Now she is a Palm Beach, Fl. based freelance writer/photographer who has over 20 years of experience in every aspect of diving; from certifying a new diver to participating in advanced technical dives in the most remote locations. She leads photo expeditions to areas around globe and is currently exploring the world of fine art photography with her life partner, Kevin Palmer. An ever changing schedule of monthly travel articles, gallery exhibitions, expanding stock image portfolio, and frequent dive/adventure journeys keep the partnership busy.

What I look for in a Dive Operator:
Once upon a time, I owned and operated a dive store for five wonderful, albeit crazy, years. During this time we strived to be knowledgeable, professional, helpful and most importantly friendly. It's an exciting business about having fun in nature and owners/staff should reflect that enjoyment in everything they do. I have found that when operators are out there taking care of customers, delivering a nice product and having fun, it's contagious!
