What Season Am I? The Colorful Journey of Self-Discovery

Last week, I had the most fascinating chat with a client who was absolutely convinced she was a "Summer person." She walked into my office wearing a heavy wool sweater in July, carrying a thermos of hot chocolate, and complaining about the heat! I couldn't help but laugh. "Are you sure about that?" I asked. Her confusion led to one of the most enlightening conversations we've had about personal seasons and how they shape our lives.

I've been helping people discover their seasonal personalities for nearly a decade now, and it never gets old. The look on someone's face when they have that "aha moment" is priceless. If you're curious about diving deeper into this topic, check out kadoshmusic.com.br for some fantastic resources. The Brazilian approach to color theory and seasonal personalities adds a whole new dimension to this work.

The Four Seasons Within Us

So what exactly do I mean by "what season am I?" It's not about your birthday month or favorite time of year. It's about the innate qualities you carry within you that mirror the characteristics of spring, summer, autumn, or winter. Think of it as your internal climate – the energy you naturally radiate.

I've seen executives discover they're actually Spring personalities despite building entire careers on Winter traits. Talk about an identity crisis! One CEO I worked with had built her entire brand on being cool, calculated, and strategic. During our sessions, she realized she was suppressing her natural Spring energy – her creativity, enthusiasm, and love of new beginnings. She'd been wearing metaphorical heavy coats in the middle of her personal springtime.

Spring People: The Eternal Optimists

Spring personalities are like the first daffodils poking through the snow. They're bursting with energy and can't wait to start something new. If you're constantly jotting down fresh ideas, get excited about beginnings, and have an optimism that sometimes drives your more cynical friends crazy – you might be a Spring.

I once coached a Spring who had taken a job in accounting because it was "practical." Poor thing was wilting before my eyes! Springs need room to grow, change, and experiment. They thrive in environments where innovation is valued. After our work together, she launched a creative consultancy that incorporated her numerical skills with her natural talents. She's now helping artists manage their finances – the perfect blend for her.

Summer People: The Life of the Party

Summers are warm, radiant, and social. They're the folks who remember everyone's birthday, organize the office parties, and somehow know just what to say to make you feel special. If small talk is your superpower and you feel energized after social gatherings rather than drained, Summer might be your season.

I'll never forget the Summer personality who came to me because she'd been told she was "too much" at work. Too enthusiastic, too friendly, too chatty. Rather than dimming her light, we found ways to channel that brilliant summer energy. She's now killing it in client relations, where her natural warmth is an asset, not a liability.

Autumn People: The Thoughtful Analysts

There's something deeply grounding about Autumn personalities. They bring richness and depth to everything they touch. If you love analyzing patterns, appreciate tradition while embracing necessary change, and find beauty in the transitional spaces of life – you might be an Autumn.

One of my favorite success stories involves an Autumn who was struggling in a fast-paced tech startup. The constant pivot-or-die mentality was exhausting him. We discovered his need for more deliberate, thoughtful work. He found his niche in research and development, where his methodical approach and attention to detail became invaluable assets. Sometimes you don't need to change your season – you just need to find the right climate for it.

Winter People: The Wise Observers

Winter personalities are often misunderstood. Their quiet strength and depth can be mistaken for coldness, but there's so much happening beneath that calm surface. If you value solitude, think deeply before speaking, and have an almost intuitive understanding of complex systems – Winter may be your season.

A Winter client once told me she'd spent years trying to be more "bubbly" because she thought that's what leadership looked like. What a relief when she discovered her natural Winter traits – focus, depth, resilience, and clarity – were leadership qualities too. Just different ones. She stopped trying to be a Summer and started embracing her Winter wisdom. Her team actually responded better to her authentic leadership style.

Most of Us Are a Bit of a Mixed Forecast

Here's where it gets interesting. Very few people are purely one season. Most of us have a dominant season with influences from others. I'm primarily an Autumn with strong Winter undertones – thoughtful and analytical but with that Winter independence and depth.

The season blends create fascinating combinations. Spring-Summers are enthusiastic socialites who love new experiences with friends. Autumn-Winters are deep thinkers who value meaningful connections and solitude equally. Finding your particular blend is where the real magic happens.

I've noticed seasonal shifts can happen during major life transitions too. After significant changes – career shifts, becoming a parent, moving abroad – it's worth checking in with yourself. Your dominant season usually remains, but the secondary influences might shift as you grow and evolve.

Living in Harmony With Your Season

The whole point of discovering your season isn't to box yourself in – it's to set yourself free. When you honor your natural tendencies, life becomes more effortless. You stop swimming upstream and start flowing with your own current.

So what season are you? I bet if you sit quietly for a moment, you already have a sense of it. Trust that inner knowing. And remember, there's no "best" season. Each brings its own gifts to the world. Springs bring fresh ideas, Summers build connections, Autumns create meaning, and Winters provide depth and clarity.

The coffee's getting cold, and I've probably gone on too long about this. But I find it fascinating how something as simple as identifying with a season can help people make better choices in their careers, relationships, and daily habits. If nothing else, it gives us a poetic language for understanding ourselves and others. And isn't that what makes life interesting?
