Maurine Shimlock
Maurine has meshed her love for the ocean environment with her passions for photography and writing. Honored internationally, her work has appeared in numerous books, magazines, and films. Believing that words and images are secondary to the experience of being \"out there\", Maurine (with her husband, Burt Jones) has pioneered some of the dive community\'s most popular destinations including the Solomon Islands and Komodo National Park. An avid marine naturalist, she has dived with the world\'s leading ichthyologists and provided images for leading scientific journals. From June, 2008 Maurine will be based in Bali in order to work on her current assignment: explore the still uncharted reefs around West Papua, Indonesia and produce a diving guide for the region.
What I look for in a Dive Operator:
Respect for their customers and staff are important. I also value an operator\'s ability to offer a high level of service in remote, almost inaccessible areas.
