Linda M. Pitkin

From early childhood Linda Pitkin has had a passion for nature, which led her to a career as a biologist (now completed), and to become an underwater photographer (ongoing). She started diving in 1979, took up underwater photography a year later, and has won many international photography awards. In 2003 she became an honoree in the Women Divers Hall of Fame. Linda is the author and photographer of four books: The Living Sea - a Photographic Exploration of Life in the Sea (1995), Under Northern Seas (1997), Coral Fish (2001), and a book for children, Journey Under the Sea (2003). Her photographs feature widely in many media including books, magazines and exhibitions.

What I look for in a Dive Operator:
Ideally, I look for a dive operator who is flexible and considerate of the needs of serious photographers, and whose general experience and knowledge of the local area can provide the best opportunities. Above all, I hope to be allowed reasonable freedom to take responsibility for myself on a dive.
