Bernardo Sambra
Bernardo is a Peruvian underwater and wildlife photographer who has been diving the world for more than 20 years. With the fusion of his passions, photography and the underwater world, he has developed a particular way of promoting nature and connecting people with this sometimes unnoticed world. Bernardo\'s photography and related articles have appeared in several international magazines and journals such as Underwater Photography Magazine, Asian Geographic, Rumbos, Panorama de las Americas, X3Mag, Golden Dolphin, Scuba Diver, PhotoNews, Voces, Somos, TravesĀas and many others and his work has been recognized in various international contests. In 2003, Bernardo and his wife Valerie found The Living Oceans (thelivingoceans.com), a non-profit organization, with the objective of achieving the use of underwater photography as an instrument to promote the education and the care of the oceans and its inhabitants.
What I look for in a Dive Operator:
First of all, excellent know how relative to the area where they operate, as well as a true concern about the underwater environment. My ideal is a dive operator who has: lots of experience working with UW photographers, concern about my needs and my equipment, and especially a deep knowledge of diving technical and safety issues so I can feel secure and completely focus on my work.
