David Barrio

I was born in Santander, (north coast of Spain), thirty six years ago where I studied civil engineering I didn´t take up diving until I moved to work to the Canary Islands nine years ago, where I took my OWD with four friends.
I don´t remember why I bought my first camera in 2004 but I can surely remember I didn´t know anything about underwater photography (or any photography at all), so I am not the kind of photographer that has been diving and shooting forever but, in the end, I got hooked with UWP and started to spend all of my weekends and holidays travelling all over the world including places I could only dream about like Galapagos, Okavango´s delta or Indonesia.
In these years Luisa (my girlfriend and model) and I have been published in various magazines, covers, entered many contests and shootouts being lucky enough to win some of them such as the El Hierro UWP competition, Mogan Photo shootout, NCUPS Best of show Bob Commer award etc...

What I look for in a Dive Operator:
Basically to dive as much as I want and how I want. Good food is also very important. The rest of the amenities are important too but not necessary, i.e: I could be on a luxury boat but if the diving is no good then I would have the feeling of being wasting time. When both things add up together, then I have the trip of a life like I did on the Damai.
