Sailfish, Isla Mujeres, Mexico - Jan 2011

Expedition Dates:January 7, 2011 - January 16, 2011
Destination:Isla Mujeres, Mexico
Cost:Contact us Sold Out

Join Jason Heller as part of an intimate group on this underwater photography and video expedition to shoot feeding schools of sailfish in Isla Mujeras, Mexico.

It seems that sailfish / marlin are a hot subject at the moment, and some of the images that underwater photographers are capturing have been jaw dropping to say the least.

We are working with a small operator who is extremely experienced and pioneered these dives. It is actually a fishing boat, which is how they learned of these aggregations in the first place. The sailfish feed on bait balls in blue water. The weather, visibility and amount of sailfish are all variable. There are no guarantees, but we will be in the water during the prime season. Unlike other bait ball diving that are truly a crapshoot, the feeding here is constantly happening during this season and the chances are very good to get in the water with schools of sailfish.

For now we are planning the first 10 day trip, with 8 days on the water, but we may add a second group for an additional 7 - 10 days.
