Eric Javier is a man who lives a double life. During the week, he is out providing engineering services to manufacturing companies, but on the weekends is when he can escape from Manila and head to his boutique dive resort in Anilao, Casia Bahia, and indulge his true passion—underwater photography. Eric loves to share his love for shooting, so if you ever want to dive or just talk underwater photography, just drop by on the weekend and you’ll find him there.
Having a dive resort in one of the premier destinations in the world has allowed him to really refine his craft, and his images have gone from those of a beginner to a professional. With an almost uncountable number of dives in Anilao, Eric still finds new places to explore and creatures to shoot. He embodies the idea that you can dive somewhere hundreds of times and still find new things to shoot or new techniques to try.
Eric’s impressive images—just a few of which are showcased here—demonstrate both his technical skill and his creative eye. In each image, details are tack sharp, light and shadow are perfectly balanced, and every appendage seems to be in just the right place. With a collection of critter portraits that really stand out from the crowd, this incredibly talented shooter is definitely one to watch.
