For Photographer of the Week, Albert Sáiz Tezanos, his underwater photography experience thus far has been one filled with macro critters. That’s not, according to Albert, because he doesn’t like wide-angle photography, but because of his rig—he only recently added wide capabilities—and the fact that it’s what has been most accessible in terms of house reefs where he can spend oodles of time practicing. Also, living in Indonesia helps, for Albert is surely not lacking in plentiful shores bursting with vibrant reefs from which to dive from.
Having transitioned not too long ago from a compact setup, Albert is in the exploration phase of what both his eye and photography can do when combined with scuba. But it is clear that Albert already has a keen sense of light, composition and variation in technique. And so all we have to do is sit back and wait for him to head to some of the wide-angle destinations in the world to see his portfolio blossom into a diverse array of images that span the photographic spectrum.
