Stingray City with an iPhone Camera
By Joseph Tepper, January 16, 2013 @ 06:00 AM (EST)

It’s called the world’s “best 10-foot-deep dive site”—and now it meets the iPhone.

As part of testing out the iPhone in i-Divesite housing in Grand Cayman for the last month, I took a trip out to the Stingray City sandbar. It’s exactly what it sounds like: a shallow sandbar where dozens of stingrays surround you non-stop. I’ve had great fun photographing it with my full SLR setup (you can read my article here), but how would it hold up with an iPhone.

Actually, this is the type of thing the i-Pix housing will probably be most used for—casual snorkeling or watersports, and not 100-foot-deep wall dives. As it turns out, it is as much fun in waist-deep water as it is 20 fathoms under the sea…
