From looking at the surf photography of Alex Frings it is not difficult to see how his earlier landscape background influences his photographic work today. 

As a child, he lived far from the ocean, and focused on capturing the scenery surrounding him.

Today, after being lured towards the life and thrill of surf culture, he lives in Byron Bay, Australia where he has crafted a style that marries the essence of movement and action found in surfing with the picturesque terrain of the coast.
