Stefan Follows took a brave giant stride in 2001 when he left a steady career as a graphic designer in London to be a dive instructor in Thailand. But he managed to pack the accrued knack for communicating a message through the visual medium in his bags, swiftly transitioning into an underwater photography career.
Nearly a decade later, Stefan’s photography has earned him dozens of recognitions and awards. While the Gulf of Thailand remains his home base, Stefan’s images reflect a diversity in destinations and subjects from the Baltic to Bali.
In his latest career pivot, Stefan now leads the education department of the Centre for Oceanic Research and Education Southeast Asia (CORE Sea), a small research field station on Koh Pha Ngan, According to Stefan, this job gives him, “even more time for [his] aquatic passions.”
