Diving came by chance for underwater photographer Morten Bjørn Larsen, who had never really considered getting certified. It wasn’t until his girlfriend convinced him to take a diving course in Thailand’s Phi Phi Islands that a new world opened up for him.
Morten jumped right into underwater photography by learning from acclaimed shooter Alex Mustard. It didn’t take long to pick up the skill: Since 2009, Morten has won awards from the Danish National Underwater Championship, Copenhagen International Dive Show, and the inaugural Underwater Photographer of the Year.
Among other opportunities, Morten has served as the official underwater photography at the World Championships of Freediving, as well as the assistant to Danish Nikon ambassador Casper Tybjerg on assignment in the Red Sea. You can also see his photojournalism in various Skandanavian publications, Unterwasser (Germany), SCUBA (UK), and Diver (UK) magazines.
