A trifecta of green turtles, Tenerife
It's tough to believe that Photographer of the Week, Montse Grillo, has only been shooting underwater for about three years. She has already produced many notable images that are easily recognizable as hers, and she’s won several awards, including first place in a 2013 DPG photo contest. At first glance, turtles seem to be her specialty; however, Montse's range is clearly considerable.
Living in Tenerife on the Canary Islands, Montse has been able to dive and shoot extensively in order to showcase the diversity of life that roams in her backyard. A major key to her success may very well be her patience in observing animal behavior, and her visualization and subsequent execution of shots she is seeking. Whether she's chasing a certain window of light or waiting for a split second of animal interaction, she is prepared and committed.
In just a few years, Montse has managed to build an impressive portfolio that captures critters both large and small. With a knack for producing images packed with action and a natural narrative, she will be a shooter well worth watching as she progresses in the future.
