For Magdalena Kernan, photography is just a line in an extensive list of accolades and achievements. Though she is only fresh out of university, she has already dipped her toes into the wells of philanthropy, adventure, and community involvement. Whether as a project coordinator for the United Nations, a collaborator in a series documenting the homeless of Atlantic City, or a future lawyer, Magi has found a way to use her lens for the environment, social issues, and human rights.
In her ocean photography, Magi focuses that sweet, ethereal spot just below the waves. Where waves break, surfers dip and snorkelers revel—that is Magi’s realm, where she captures the pull and tug of humans with the ocean.
