Bruno Van Saen might just be the best-conditioned underwater photographer we’ve featured. At a young age, he entered the cycling circuit, winning races left and right. Later, he transitioned to the sport of karate where he became a regional champ.
Bruno continues his winning tradition in the realm of underwater photography. His competitive spirit and athleticism have propelled him from amateur to pro; keeping up with whale sharks in a heavy current is no easy task.
Along with his underwater photo partner and wife, Els Van Den Borre, Bruno globetrots, sharing his inspiring marine photojournalism. Adding to his cycling and karate accolades, Bruno has nabbed top photo honors such as “Plongeur d’Or” at the renowned World Festival of Underwater Photography in Marseille.
