Earlier this year, a vicious typhoon ripped through the South Pacific, devastating Truk (Chuuk) and taking with it the former Truk Siren. And while no one was hurt, it was a devastating loss for Worldwide Dive and Sail.
Now the good news: Worldwide Dive and Sail has announced they will be back in Truk Lagoon early next year with a refitted steel yacht, the Truk Master. After serving as a private yacht, the former Astral Star will begin offering liveaboard itineraries in February 2016 to some of the world’s best wreck diving.
‘‘While we are obviously sad to lose the Truk Siren, we find ourselves in the fortunate position of having a beautiful steel yacht in our possession that is just waiting to be given a destination,” said Worldwide Dive and Sail CEO, Frank Van der Linde. “She has been used for many years as a private luxury boat and, while she is obviously a different kind of vessel, she is definitely just as beautiful.”
For more information on the new trips and updates on the Truk Master, make sure to check out the Worldwide Dive and Sail website.
