Winning images for May’s underwater photo contest have been selected! The theme for May’s contest was “Big Animals” and the winner of the contest and a $200 gift certificate to Backscatter is Brandi Mueller! A big, big thank you to our retial partner, Backscatter, for sponsoring the April and May contests.
Brandi managed to perfectly frame two Mantas in mid spiral, while capturing the magnificence of these Big Animals! Great job!

In second place was Fabien Michenet, who skillfully captured a special humpback whale and calf. This is Fabien's third time placing in a DPG monthly contest. He previously won the July 2010 contest, and placed third in the April 2010.

Third place was awarded to Tobias Friedrich with an interesting perspective of whale shark and snorkeler. This is Tobias's 5th time placing in a DPG monthly competition, but he has still never taken home a first place! I am sure it's just a matter of time.
