Most underwater photographers would swoon at the thought of capturing footage of the elusive thresher shark. But filmmakers and underwater industry legends Howard and Michelle Hall have done just that—and it’s in ultra-clear 8K resolution!
“This montage of 8K thresher shark images was captured at Malapascua Island, Philippines,” they write. “Special thanks to The Ocean Vida Resort and to Sea Explorers for their generous support and professional guidance.”
Thresher sharks typically live in deep water and can only be seen at the boundaries of recreational diving. What’s more, they are scared off by bubbles and lights, so getting any footage – let alone stunning 8K video – is an accomplishment. The video was captured with a RED 8K cinema camera. Enjoy, and be envious.
