There aren’t many reasons you’d be keen to hop into the frozen waters of the Arctic—but I’m betting the chance to swim with orca whales is one of them!
Photographer and writer Sean Havas recently had this very opportunity in the chilly waters off of Norway. Sean describes the experience as not being one for “whiners,” as he had to spend many hours per day in the water in a drysuit without getting cold. Water temperatures in Norway can reach the freezing point.
“Sharing the water with a large male orca is truly the ultimate oceanic experience,” Sean writes on his Facebook page. “The gods where on my side on this expedition to arctic Norway and I couldn't be more grateful.”
