U.S. East Coast Prepares for Hurricane Florence
On the United States’ Eastern Seaboard, thousands are evacuating and millions are bracing to take a hit from Hurricane Florence—one of the strongest storms to hit the area in decades.
Although the storm has been downgraded to a Category 2 hurricane, officials still expect Florence to bring dangerous amounts of surge and 110 mph winds to coastal North Carolina and South Carolina. Impacts of the storm will be felt up and down the coast from Georgia through Maryland.
With many DPG readers living in this large area, we hope that the storm turns out less devastating than predicted. Dive operators along the coast have largely shuttered and moved their boats to safety. Stay safe!
