Underwater Technics is now shipping its TTL converter for SEA&SEA MDX Canon housings. Like the company’s TTL converter for SEA&SEA Nikon housings, the new optoelectronic converter is designed to be installed in place of SEA&SEA’s original “Optical YS-Converter” at the top of the front housing shell. The converter uses a CR2332 lithium battery, which is good for 5,000 flashes.

According to Underwater Technics, the converter works with strobe models by SEA&SEA, Inon, Ikelite, Retra, Marelux, and Subtronic, and certain strobes—such as the SEA&SEA YS-D130R, Retra Flash Pro Max II, and Marelux Apolllo III V2—allow high-speed sync (HSS) functionality up to 1/8000s. The converter supports continuous shooting and both front and rear curtain sync.

The TTL converter for SEA&SEA MDX Canon housings is priced at $520 on the UW Technics website.
