Lytro Takes a Dive…Literally
By Joseph Tepper, February 8, 2013 @ 06:00 AM (EST)
If you haven’t heard of the Lytro camera by now you are missing out. The so-called “light field camera” allows the photographer (or viewer for that matter) to change depth of field after-the-fact by selecting the point of focus.
Lytro has always had underwater beginnings—the director of photography for the camera is Eric Cheng, publisher of our sister site Wetpixel and pro underwater photographer. On a trip to Indonesia, Eric snapped the first pictures with Lytro underwater.
Eric took the pics in a custom, prototype housing built by manufacturer Nauticam. You can view, interact, and be in awe of the pics on the Lytro website.
