The deadline of the inaugural Underwater Awards Australasia Imaging Competition has been extended by popular demand! You now have an extra week to submit your entries—submissions must close on August 8th!

This really is your last chance to claim your share of $50,000 worth of prizes: awesome dive vacations with Master Liveaboards, Bilikiki Cruises, Blue Force Fleet, MV FeBrina/MV Oceania, and Atlantis Philippines; as well as fabulous equipment from Ikelite, QYSEA, Backscatter, SUPE, OM System, Kraken Sports, SeaLife, Isotta, Orcatorch, and Inon; not to mention a fantastic one-year membership to The Underwater Club.

For five of the eight categories—Over-Under, Smartphone, Environmental, Portfolio and Reels Showcase—entries must have been shot in the Australasian region, which includes Australia, New Zealand, and the countries of Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia, and Southeast Asia (see map). The remainder are special categories: Sydney (images captured in the waters of Metropolitan Sydney), Australian (images from Australia and its internal territories), and International Waters (images from anywhere!).

Submissions will be judged by a prestigious panel—Tobias Friedrich, Jayne Jenkins, Brett Lobwein, Ross Long, Matty Smith and William Tan—and the winners will be announced, and exhibited, at the Go Diving Show ANZ in September.
