Today is “’World Water Day” 2012!
By Joseph Tepper, March 22, 2012 @ 12:38 PM (EST)
DPG would like to wish all of our readers a happy Water Day!
What’s that? You’ve never heard about Water Day? It all goes back to 1993 when the UN General Assembly declared March 22 to be the official “World Date for Water.” As underwater photographers, we might sometimes only think of water in the tropical ocean sense.
World Water Day is here to remind us of the importance of fresh drinking water and the sustainable management of freshwater resources. Show your support for the water we may not dive in, but is a critical resource for the developing world. Try not turning on your tap for an entire day.

For more information on World Water Day and its mission, check out the very informative website.
