Earlier this year, new lighting brand SUBNOX announced their first product, a pro-level 10,000-lumen wide-angle video light called the SUB10KEF. In addition to producing the traditional 5600K (daylight) output, the SUB10KEF is equipped with specially tuned “Ambient Blue” modes that help to balance the foreground subject illuminated by the lights and the bluish background, resulting in more natural-looking footage.

Now, SUBNOX has released two follow-up diving torches with some equally innovative features—the SUB400LEP and the SUBLZT. The SUB400LEP makes use of Laser Excited Phosphor (LEP) technology to produce an extremely bright, focused beam of white light that is perfect for pointing and signaling. SUBNOX estimates the light, which has a candlepower rating of 250,000, can penetrate three times the distance of regular dive torches of the same lumens. Depth-rated to 100 meters (330 feet), the SUB400LEP offers a run time of up to 2 hours on a full charge of its 21750 battery.

SUBNOX’s other new light, the SUBLZT, is a more conventional diving torch, but also has a trick up its sleeves. At just 9.5cm (3.7") long, the SUBLZT is even more compact than the SUB400LEP, which is only 13cm (5.1") in length, and is ideal for spotting critters in crevices and as a signaling tool. In addition to low-power and SOS modes, the SUBLZT also boasts a green laser, which is handy for pointing or guiding or—according to SUBNOX—warding off angry titan triggerfish! The 500-lumen torch uses a rechargeable 18350 battery, which provides a 2-hour runtime at maximum power. An optional BCD mounting clip for the SUBLZT ensures maximum convenience. The light also has a depth rating of 100 meters (330 feet).

Shipping soon, the SUB400LEP will retail for $200, while the SUBLZT and BCD holder will be priced at $130 and $30, respectively.

SUBNOX SUBLZT

Most recreational divers only carry a torch only during night dives. A torch however can be extremely handy in the day, and used to examine critters in their natural colour or illuminating crevices or overhangs. It can also be a vital safety signalling tool for divers who may be lost or separated from their group at sea.

Day and Night Versatility

The SUBLZT is designed to ALWAYS be with you. The ultra compact design and BCD mount ensures it is always there when you need it, and barely noticeable when you don’t!

Weighing a tiny 102 grams (with Battery) and only 9.5 cm in length, the SUBLZT clips securely on your BCD harness or strap via an included mount. A lanyard is included for additional safety.

Safety Features

The magnetic ring switches between maximum brightness, lower lumens (to conserve battery levels), SOS signalling/flashing and the green laser.

Integrated Green Laser
