Residents are being invited to create a 15- to 22-second public service announcement for the Guam Year of the Reef 2008 Community PSA Contest using one of the following themes: "Celebrate Guam's Reefs;" or "Protect Guam's Reefs," according to a news release from the governor's office.

Submission deadline is Feb. 29. Entries will be posted on YouTube and viewed at the Year of the Reef's Web site, www.guamiyor08.com. The public will vote for its favorite entry. The two winning PSAs will be aired on KUAM throughout 2008 as part of the International Year of the Reef 2008 Campaign.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for the creative minds of our island to showcase their talents, learn about coral reef ecosystems, and produce an original message for Guam," said Gov. Felix Camacho. "I am excited to see the entries and encourage everyone to participate."
