As devastation from the earthquake and tsunami in Palu, Indonesia continues to send shockwaves across the globe, dive and watersport operators in North Sulawesi are working together to raise funds and send supplies.
The North Sulawesi Watersports Association wants travelers to know that in spite of the close proximity to Palu, the North Sulawesi region is very fortunate to have not been impacted. That didn’t stop operators from feeling the impact of the disaster emotionally and making strides to help the victims.
Siladen Resort and Spa has been leading the charge in the recovery efforts by collecting donations from current and previous guests. So far, they have raised more than $3,500 in cash and have also sent three shipments of supplies to the Central Sulawesi region. “We have sent food, water, materials for tents, baby food and many other supplies,” said Ana Fonseca, the Guest Experience Manager at Siladen.
If you are interested in helping out with a donation or supplies, more information can be found on the Siladen website. You can also email Ana directly to donate.
