A Fort Lauderdale exhibit is taking a bite out of the sensationalized shark myth one piece of art at a time.
SHARK opens on May 12 at the Muesuem of Art in downtown Ft. Lauderdale, and features more than 70 artists’ perspective on the magnificent king of the ocean—from sculpture, to photography, and drawings.
“There’s a shark carved out of automobile hub caps, there’s a shark made out of a golf bag, there’s sharks made out of washing machine parts,” explained the exhibit curator, Richard Ellis. “I think anybody will connect with this exhibit whether you like sharks or not.”
The exhibit is open through January and is included with standard entry into the museum. For more information, visit the museum website here.
