Seaside Vacations: Healthy for the Mind

A study conducted by the British Psychological Society determined that being by the seaside has more psychologically positive effects than being in other natural environments such as in an urban park or in the country.
Researchers studied a group of 2,750 people and found that being near the sea had the most calming and relaxing effect on participants across all ages.
Mathew White, a researcher in the study, said this could be an "innate preference" among humans for the sight and sound of water or could be due to cultural and social ideas present in societies.
So next time you’re thinking about a trip to the beach, don’t just think of it as vacation, but also as a way to improve your mental wellbeing!
