Seacam Unveils Housing for the Nikon Z7 II/Z6 II
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, March 28, 2022 @ 02:00 AM (EST)

After a full redesign of their website, Seacam has unveiled its latest Silver housings, including the company’s new housing for the Nikon Z7 II and Z6 II—which is also compatible with the original Z7 and Z6. Externally identical to the first-generation models (aside from the badges), the 45.7MP photo-oriented Z7 II and 24.5MP videocentric Z6 II boast faster Expeed 6 processors, which increase both the burst shooting speed and the buffer size, improve autofocus, and allow the cameras to capture up to 4K/60p internally.

Seacam’s Silver housings are milled from a saltwater-proof light metal alloy that is twice hardened and anodized, and the two housing shells are secured with the company’s titanium Safety Lock fastening system. Premium materials are used throughout, including stainless steel and anodized aluminum buttons and dials, which offer full control over the camera’s functions.

Depth-rated to 260 feet, the housing features integrated (but removeable) handles and a large window for viewing the camera’s LCD. As well as native Z-mount lenses, you have the option of using F-mount lenses via Nikon’s FTZ adapter. The housing can be configured with S6 or N5 bulkheads for electrical strobe triggering, and you have the option of connecting a monitor/recorder via HDMI. Seacam’s leak detector is fitted as standard, with the vacuum valve and pump purchased separately.

The housing is priced at €4350 (excl. shipping, taxes and custom duties) on Seacam’s website, and it is available in the U.S. from Backscatter.
