Back in July, Sea&Sea unveiled an interesting new housing that offers “universal compatibility” with the various full-frame cameras in Sony’s Alpha series, including the a7 Mark IV, a7R Mark IV, a7S Mark III, a9 Mark II, and a1. Now Sea&Sea has announced that it will soon be adding the new Sony a7R Mark V to that list.
In a newly released Facebook video, the Japanese company shows how an a7R V can be mounted in their MDX-αU universal housing, promising that a “modification kit” to accommodate the new model in the housing is “scheduled to be released in late January 2023.” (Thanks, Uncle Google, for the Japanese translation!)
Backscatter is currently taking pre-orders for the MDX-αU universal housing, but pricing and availability have not yet been revealed. Check out the video below.
