Japanese manufacturer of underwater photo and video equipment Fisheye has announced that it has acquired strobe and housing maker Sea&Sea and made it a subsidiary. Kenji Omura, Fisheye’s Director, says that Fisheye will “take full advantage of the history and achievements of Sea&Sea” and work with the company to “develop and nurture products that are loved and recognized by divers.”
Founded in 1972 (and therefore celebrating its 50th anniversary next year), Sea&Sea has enjoyed great success with its strobe line—including the YS-110, YS-D2 and YS-250PRO—and produces housings for a wide range of popular cameras, most recently for the Nikon Z7 II/Z6 II and the Canon EOS R5. Fisheye produces the FIX Neo line of video lights, a wet lens, and heat vest for divers.
We look forward to seeing the future products developed under the Sea&Sea brand.
