Issue 8 of Scuba Diver OCEAN PLANET (SDOP) has just been released and will soon be available to subscribers and on magazine shelves in selected countries. New editor Gill McDonald, an accomplished diver and underwater photographer, takes the reins with this “budget and luxury” edition, putting together the issue’s central feature covering a wide variety of dive destinations around the world aimed at both the well-heeled and the “slight of wallet.”
This issue also includes several new sections, including “Shooter on Tour,” which this issue follows the exploits of underwater, travel and lifestyle photographer Michele Westmorland; and “Off the Grid,” which sees Sabrina Monella and Franco Banfi visit the far-flung Revillagigedo Archipelago, 250 miles off the coast of Mexico.
To top things off, in this issue’s “Through The Lens” photography section, Allison Vitsky Sallmon and her husband Andy present their extensive Underwater Photographer’s Guide to California, telling you all you need to know about the state’s awesome and varied photographic subjects, and the techniques and gear you’ll need to capture them. This issue’s wonderful over-under cover shot is by the talented Pasquale Vassallo.
