Underwater photographers face a lot of adversity when traveling. There’s the rough treatment of your luggage en route, or the excessive heat in the field, and then you have the fact that water is constantly threatening our prized electronics.
SanDisk’s new Extreme Portable SSD external hard drive just might be able to weather whatever storm underwater photographers have to endure in the field. It’s extremely compact at just 0.35 x 1.95 x 3.79 in and weighing in at 1.38 oz—meaning it’s going to fit in snugly in almost any one of your travel bags.
But amazingly, with a carabiner clip and ultra-tough build, this SSD storage unit could probably be attached to your keychain or outside of a bag and do just fine. It has a IP55 dust and water resistance (low-pressure water jets from any direction) and is shockproof from falls of 6.6 feet.
You can now purchase SanDisk’s Extreme Portable SSD in four different capacities ranging in price from $90 (250GB) to $520 (2TB).
