This is the third year in a row that the SanDisk Red Sea- World of Underwater Images Competition takes place in Eilat, Israel, organized by the visionary Yam Magazine editor and publisher– David Pilosof– well known as Pilo. More than 120 competitors arrived to Eilat from all over the world to take part in the competition. The grand prize was awarded to Arthur J Telle Thlemann of Spain.
Many familiar names appear in the winners list, both professional and amateurs alike. Some of the winners of the annual Wetpixel & DivePhotoGuide competitions such as Noam Kortler, Magnus Lundgren, Jose Alejandro Alvarez, Alessio Viora and Tibor Dombovarski, were all finalists. In addition, a few of the pros featured in the DPG PRO galleries, like Mirko Zanni, Todd Essick, and Franco Banfi were also winners and/or finalists, as well as some of the photographers in queue to be featured in upcoming months.
