Rumor - Nikon To Announce The D3100 With 1080p Video On August 19th
Reports of the D3100 are heating up after Nikon Rumors reported that commercial shots for the new entry level SLR had been taken off Page, Arizona at the Grand Canyon. Nikon then registered a press event on the 19th, which is when the camera is expected to be released.
The D3100 is supposed to be an entry level camera that falls somewhere between the D3000 and D5000. However, it has been the possible changes Nikon is incorporating that have everyone excited. Rumor has it we are gonna see some serious features in the D3100 including…drum roll please…
I want to reiterate that these are just rumors, but if they are true, including a 1080p video mode with continuos autofocus is huge step for Nikon. Check back in on the 19th for an update.

- 1080p HD video at 24 fps (!)
- Continuous AF in video mode (live view)
- 10 mp CMOS sensor (that's right, a CMOS sensor)
I want to reiterate that these are just rumors, but if they are true, including a 1080p video mode with continuos autofocus is huge step for Nikon. Check back in on the 19th for an update.
