This week, a Divemaster working on the Solmar V –one of the premier liveaboards for underwater photographers– rescued a tangled dolphin off of San Benedicto Island in the Revillagigedo chain.
Rey, a veteran Divemaster of 18 years and the most experienced in Socorro, noticed the dolphin struggling in an entangled mess of a fishing line and was first to arrive on the scene. Turning its belly up, the dolphin waited patiently as Rey was able to unwind the line- the dolphin even went to the surface for a breath, before returning to let the Divemaster finish the job! Even more amazing, Rey said he could really feel the dolphin communicating with him and asking for help.

What a wonderful ending to an incredible fish-tale by the fantastic folks at Solmar V!
