Reflector for Retra Flash Announced
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, October 12, 2020 @ 06:30 PM (EST)

After beginning to ship the new Flash Prime and Flash PRO strobes in January this year, and introducing the new Supercharger battery pack to improve recycle times and number of flashes per charge, Retra has now announced a handy accessory—the Reflector.

Made from machined aluminum finished with a reflective coating that’s also designed to resist corrosion and scratches, the Reflector snaps onto the strobe head (via the separate Reduction Ring), both narrowing the beam angle and increasing power output by one stop (i.e., doubling output). This should allow you to shoot many subjects at lower powers and reap the benefits in terms of battery drain and recycle times. The device is well suited to macro, wide-angle, and close-focus wide-angle shooting.

Shipping later this month, the Reflector is priced at €99 ex. VAT, while the Reduction Ring—which must be purchased separately—costs €39 ex. VAT.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

The new Retra Flash produces a wide spread beam of light—ideal for wide angle photography. To make our flashgun as versatile as possible we have developed the Reflector—a superior light shaping product.

The Reflector increases the power output of the flashgun by +1 F-stop (in water) and narrows the beam angle—ideal for macro and CFWA photography in manual or TTL mode. It increases the power output in HSS mode as well!

The new Reflector is made from a single piece of aluminium and is treated with a highly reflective finish that doubles as a corrosion and scratch resistant coating. Made to last and perform at the highest level.
