Factually speaking, President Donald Trump does not like sharks. He’s tweeted how sharks are last on his list, other than “the losers and haters of the world.” He refused to remove controversial shark fin soup from his hotel menus because sharks will “be around long after we are gone.” And recently, more stories have emerged: One details how the President of the United states is reportedly terrified by sharks.
The story became truly fin-spirational when shark conservation organizations reported record donations in the reveal of Trump’s tendency to be terrified of sharks. Groups like the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy and Shark Trust are just a few of the many shark charities benefiting from Trump’s animosity towards the animals.
“It can certainly be a challenge to raise money for a species that most people fear," Atlantic White Shark Conservancy CEO Cynthia Wilgren told The Financial News website. "We have been receiving donations in Trump's name since the story was published."
Apparently, many of the donations are accompanied by passionate notes from the contributor—but many are a bit too salty to share publicly.
