Swiss photographer Michel Roggo’s Freshwater Project documents rivers around the world, from Florida’s Ichetuknee River to the Rio Negro Igapo in Brazil and the Wadi Wurayah in the United Arab Emirates. Featured now on National Geographic, Roggo’s stunning photographs depict 20 rivers worldwide. By the end of the project, he plans to document a total of 30 rivers.
Roggo hopes that his photographs will bring awareness about the importance of preserving freshwater bodies around the world. He has specialized in freshwater photography for 25 years and uses remote-controlled cameras to capture the images.
