PHIDEX and ADEX Join Forces for Dive Show in February 2024
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, February 7, 2024 @ 08:00 AM (EST)

Recently hailed as the “World’s Leading Dive Destination” (per the World Travel Awards), the Philippines is once again playing host to the country’s “largest platform for the diving community”—the Philippine International Dive Expo (PHIDEX). For the fourth edition of the event, the Philippine Department of Tourism is working with Underwater360, organizers of ADEX, Asia’s largest and longest-running dive expo. More than 100 exhibitors—from resorts and liveaboards to dive gear manufacturers and national tourism organizations—will be attending.

The expo includes the Dive Travel Exchange (TRAVEX), a B2B event connecting Philippine sellers with international dive operators. The show’s dive conference and seminars will spotlight the country’s commitment to welcoming international dive tourists, with presentations on new dive destinations, gear showcases, and insights from international speakers on sustainable practices. Among the speakers are renowned underwater photographers Laurent Ballesta and Greg Lecoeur.

PHIDEX 2024 is taking place at the World Trade Centre, Pasay City, Metro Manila, from February 23rd to 25th. Check out the press release below for more information.

PHIDEX 2024: Collaboration for the Ocean Community
February 23–25, World Trade Centre, Manila

Organized by the Philippine Department of Tourism in conjunction with ADEX Manila, PHIDEX is the country’s largest platform catered to the diving community. Taking place from February 23rd to 25th at the World Trade Center, Manila, the event will offer expansive networking prospects for decision-makers, communities, and individuals with a passion for all things diving.

PHIDEX 2024 serves as a global hub for divers, underwater photographers, media, and international brands. Attendees can forge connections, share insights, and explore the latest advancements in the world of diving, fostering a community passionate about the depths beneath.

The expo will be run by Underwater360, the official media partner of PHIDEX and the mastermind behind the Asia Dive Expo (ADEX), Asia’s largest and longest-running dive expo. This year, ADEX marks its 30th anniversary as the premier diving hub in Asia.

Commenting on the upcoming expo in Manila, ADEX CEO John Thet said, “As we mark ADEX’s 30th year, we’re excited to continue our collaboration with PHIDEX, organized by the Philippine Department of Tourism, for the second time. Our partnership reflects a shared commitment to ocean conservation, sustainability, and the growth of the diving industry.”

PHIDEX will feature the Dive Travel Exchange (TRAVEX), a two-day B2B event connecting Philippine sellers with international dive operators, facilitating fruitful collaborations and partnerships; a dive conference; and post-event dive familiarization tours.

In 2023, the World Travel Awards recognized the Philippines as the World’s Leading Dive Destination. The country was also named Asia’s Leading Dive Destination—its fifth straight win and a testament to collective efforts to preserve and further promote the dive industry together with the stakeholders from the local government, the private sector, and various dive communities.

Themed “Heart of Asia’s Diving: Collaboration for the Ocean Community,” the fourth edition of PHIDEX will specifically showcase the Philippines’ competitive edge as a diving destination for adventurers and enthusiasts alike. It will also provide an avenue for stakeholders to connect, network, and generate investment, and for local and international experts to share industry knowledge as well as best sustainable practices for ocean tourism in a global context.

Over 100 exhibitors representing dive resorts, dive shops, training agencies, insurance companies, equipment manufacturers, marine conservation associations, and national tourism organizations will be joining the expo.

For inquiries, please contact the PHIDEX Secretariat at phidex@tourism.gov.ph. Prospective exhibitors can reach out to Mr. Desmond Ho, Regional Business Manager of Asian Geographic Magazines Pte Ltd/Asia Dive Expo/Underwater360, via desmond@uw360.asia.
