Panasonic Introduces 8GB and 16GB UHS-I SDHC Cards
By Matt J. Weiss, September 1, 2010 @ 02:55 PM (EST)
Panasonic released the RP-SDY08G and RP-SDY16G SD cards today. The 8GB and 16GB SDHC cards follow the latest UHS-I specs from the SD association. The cards have a max read speed of 60MB/s and will work well with the latest 3D and full HD video recording capabilities of the recently released cameras. This makes them 2x faster than Panasonic's current offerings.
The new cards are part of Panasonic's Gold Line, which means it's protected against power failures and can clean up errors to prevent damage. They are set to be released in November of this year. No word on pricing yet.
