After the major 2019 release announced in September, ON1 has unveiled a free update of its Photo RAW software. The program is designed to offer photographers the most useful and important features from Photoshop and Lightroom in a single application.
Version 2019.1 promises a new, faster editing workflow, a new workflow for layers, the ability to transfer photos edited in Lightroom and keep non-destructive settings, new portrait tools, focus stacking (blending multiple photos at different focus distances to increase depth-of-field), and better local adjustments using raw processing data—among other enhancements. Photo RAW 2019.1 also adds support for various newly released cameras, including the Nikon Z6, Nikon D3500, and Pentax K-1 II.
The company has knocked 10 bucks of the price of the software, with the full version going for $90 and the upgrade version costing $70.
