The latest version of the ON1 Photo RAW editing software is due out in November, and it will feature significant changes. 

The 2019 version (albeit released in November 2018) is “one of the biggest and best releases in our history [and] will include tons of improvements to the photo editing workflow and new features,” according to a statement from the ON1 team. 

So, what is in this biggest and bestest release? For starters, there’s a redesigned user interface, which aims to have a “fresh and modern feel.” We also get a new (non-destructive) layers workflow, AI masking tool, and focus stacking.

But one of the biggest changes is the ability to easily migrate your photos from a Lightroom library to ON1 Photo Raw with the addition of a plug-in. This process includes all of the metadata and existing edits so that you have no excuse not to give the Lightroom competitor a try. 

You can pre-order ON1 Photo RAW 2019 for $100—and existing owners can upgrade for $80.
