OM Digital Solutions—the company we once called Olympus—has used its CP+ 2022 webpage to tease its forthcoming OM System Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera. The composite image features five past models with the Olympus badge plus a mystery “badge-less” sixth camera in the foreground that appears to be a new model—though the bit we can see bears more than a passing resemblance to the E-M1X and E-M1 Mark III. (As Photo Rumors points out, OM Digital Solutions did, in fact, release the same image showing the shadowy camera months ago, in October 2021.)
Evidently, rumors that the new mirrorless camera would be announced during the CP+ show in Japan (February 22nd–27th) are likely correct, but it remains to be seen whether the forthcoming model will “wow” Olympus fans as OM Digital Solutions management has promised.
