OM Digital Solutions has unveiled their latest Micro Four Thirds camera—the OM-3. The new model has a distinctly retro look with no fewer than four dials on the top plate, but it borrows much of the innards from the flagship OM-1 Mark II, including the same 20.37-megapixel stacked BSI Live MOS image sensor and TruePic X image processor, the same 1,053-point cross-type on-chip phase-detect AF system, and even the same high-capacity lithium-ion battery (BLX-1).
This tech allows the OM-3 to deliver up to 120fps with locked focus and up to 50fps with continuous autofocus using compatible lenses. You also get the same video modes as the OM-1 II, including uncropped 4K/60p and 10-bit H.265 recording with log profile. In addition, there’s impressive image stabilization on offer, promising 6.5 stops of shake reduction internally and up to 7.5 stops with compatible lenses. To round things off, the camera features a 1.62-M-dot 3-inch vari-angle display, a 2.36-M-dot EVF, and IP53-rated weather sealing.
Available in late February from retailers such as Backscatter, the OM-3 will cost $2,000 body only or $2,300 in a kit with the 12–45mm f/4 Pro zoom lens.
