The New York Underwater Photographic Society (NYUPS) was founded by NYC-based underwater photographers for underwater photographers. In that spirit, the organization is returning to its roots with a series of informative presentations from NYUPS members.
The first presentation will take place at the September meeting, on Monday, September 21st, 2015. Longtime member Edwin Leschhorn will give a talk on how to take your wide-angle images to the next level through composition, lighting and even a few creative techniques. Edwin had moved up from compact cameras to pro-grade gear, so he’ll be able to help shooters of all levels.
Following his presentation, other members will share their recent wide-angle images for a friendly critique session. NYUPS encourages NYC-based underwater photographers of all levels to submit images for the meeting to Joe Tepper. Please submit images no later than September 20th. More information in the press release below or the NYUPS website.

NYUPS was founded a decade ago by underwater photographers, for underwater photographers. In this spirit, we have decided to invite some of our dedicated members to present tips and techniques in the coming year. What better way to improve your photography than to learn from cherished colleagues?
At the September meeting (Monday, Sept. 21, 2015) Edwin Leschhorn will share his advice for improving your wide-angle imagery. Edwin has progressed from compact cameras to pro-level gear, so he has tips and techniques for photographers of all levels.
The meeting will kick off with Edwin’s 15-minute presentation on wide-angle equipment, lighting, composition, and even a few creative techniques. Then, he’ll turn the spotlight over to other NYUPS members, as we invite you to share your recent wide-angle images for praise and critique from the talented field of photographers in the room.
